Improving Water Resistance of Transducers

Overview

ONICON’s F-4300 Clamp-On Ultrasonic Flow Meters have various transducer options available. ONICON provides a dielectric coupling compound with every meter shipped. Applying coupling compound to the transducers can improve the overall water resistance and signal quality.

Application to New Transducers

Prior to installing a new F-4300 and the transducers, apply a small amount of the provided dielectric coupling compound to the inside of the transducer. Refer to the image below.

Application to Existing Transducers

Turn off the power that connects to the transducers. Remove the transducers and apply a small amount of the provided dielectric coupling compound to the inside of the transducer. Refer to the image below.
